Data Validation Tools

bulletRandom Building Generator
Standard Report #69 can be used to randomly select a sample set of DOE owned assets (buildings, OSF's,  and trailers) for the validation process.  The data validation form will automatically be populated with the sample set.

bulletDOE Leased Asset Report
Standard Report #69a can be used to select all DOE Leases (buildings, OSF's,  and trailers) for the validation process.  The data validation form will automatically be populated with all DOE Leases.

bulletDOE Land Asset Report
Standard Report #69b can be used to select all DOE Owned, DOE Leased, and Withdrawn land records for the validation process.  The data validation form will automatically be populated with the land records.

bulletDOE Disposition Asset Report
Standard Report #69c can be used to select all disposed asset records from FY12 through FY14 for the validation process.  The data validation form will automatically be populated with the disposed assets from the FIMS archive.

bulletFRPC Data Element Report
Standard Report #70 can be used to easily extract all validated data elements for a particular building, OSF, or trailer.  This report is also beneficial for selecting all of the data elements for assets that have been selected as an Outlier.  See data validation instructions for more information.

bulletBridge Safety Inspection Report
Standard Report #68 can be used to easily extract all bridge safety inspection data for verification during the annual validation.

bulletSample Size Chart
Identifies the number of owned assets (buildings, real property trailers and OSF's) to include in the random sample set.  These numbers are based on providing a 90% confidence level in the FIMS data.

FIMS Data Validation Training

Training PowerPoint Slides

Data Validation Training for FY15 - Class has been completed.  No further data validation training scheduled for FY15.

A two-day hands-on training class will be provided on the FIMS data validation process as it is outlined in the FY 2015 Headquarters guidance.  This class provides the necessary instruction to DOE and Contractor facilities management staff on the statistical principles, validation standard and step-by-step processes required for validation of critical FIMS information.  Unlike validation training in the past, this class has been rewritten and students will now receive hands-on instruction on all aspects of the validation process.  There is no cost to attend the training.  Class details are provided below.

Training Date: February 11-12, 2015 (2 full days)

Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm

Location: National Training Center, Albuquerque, NM (Manzano Learning Center)

Registration:  For those who wish to attend, please email your name and site you represent to Mark Gordy (mark.gordy@hq.doe.gov).  Your email should also indicate if you possess a DOE HSPD-12 badge.  For those who do not have a DOE HSPD-12 badge, arrangements will need to be made for you to get a visitors badge at the National Training Center.

Any questions related to this training can be directed to Mark Gordy (mark.gordy@hq.doe.gov) or Gayle Smith (gayle.smith@hq.doe.gov).
