FIMS Headquarters User Training Class Registration Information

The FIMS support contractor will be providing a FIMS user training classes at Headquarters. The objectives for this one day class are provided below:

	Learn how to navigate efficiently through FIMS
	Use the Property List and Property Search capabilities to review real property data
	Review of critical data elements
	Generate standard reports
	Instruction on the use of the FIMS ad-hoc query tool
	Account management
	System documentation review

Class Information

Date: May 29, 2013
Time: 8:30am - 3:00pm
Location: Germantown, Room F-017

Attendees will be using their own FIMS login accounts for this class. Please bring your FIMS user id and password to class. Those who do not have a FIMS account, can contact the FIMS Hotline (301-903-0850) to obtain one.

To register, send an email to Mark Gordy (mark.gordy@hq.doe.gov) that includes attendee name, program office, attendee phone number, and date of class you wish to attend.

FIMS New User Training Class Registration Information

The FIMS support contractor provides two day user training classes for the FIMS system. The next scheduled classes in the field will be held in September 2013. There will be significant focus on the latest FIMS enhancements/guidance which includes the new FIMS software platform.

Objectives for the training are:

	Introduce participants to the capabilities of FIMS
	Discussions about how FIMS serves as the Department's corporate facilities database
	Review of any FIMS related guidance from Headquarters including the FRPC elements
	Discussion on the FIMS Data Validation Process
	Sustainability and Cool Roofs
	Review of DOE corporate measures such as ACI and FCI
	Learn to navigate efficiently through the system
	Add real property information as part of extensive hands-on exercises
	Review of the FIMS data elements and requirements
	Review of all of the latest enhancements
	Review FIMS archive capabilities and discuss the "banking" concept for square footage
	Replacement Plant Value calculations
	Develop ad-hoc queries using techniques available through FIMS and Microsoft Access

The class consist of lecture/demonstration and hands-on exercise providing participants an opportunity to explore all of the major system functions. Each person attending the training will receive 1 copy of the FIMS Training Manual.

The following general and administrative information is provided for those individuals interested in attending the training class.

	Training Dates September 17-18, 2013 September 19-20, 2013
	Class Duration The training class will consist of 2 full days of instruction between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Travel arrangements should be made accordingly.
	Training Site U.S. Department of Energy Nevada Site Office 232 Energy Way North Las Vegas, NV 89030 Room 6404 in the C-1 Bldg Directions to the Training Site From Las Vegas Blvd, proceed to I-15 North. Take the Lake Mead - West exit. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Lossee Rd. Once on Lossee Rd at the 2nd traffic light, turn left onto Energy Way. Follow Energy Way to the stop sign. Turn right into the parking lot. The C-1 building is adjacent to the parking lot. Once you enter the building, go straight down the hall. Room 6402 is on the left. VERY IMPORTANT: Please be sure to bring your DOE badge with you. You will need to show this at the guard gate before you can enter the parking lot.

	Accommodations A listing of hotels located in the Las Vegas strip area can be located on the web at www.vegas.com or www.lasvegas.com. You can also obtain a listing of hotels that are close to the training facility by performing a Google search.
